After Asus had already introduced the ROG Phone II in China at the end of July, the gaming smartphone finds its way to Europe with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 Plus, fast 120 Hz display and up to 1 TB of flash memory according to UFS 3.0: At the IFA In 2019, the Elite and Ultimate editions celebrate their premiere.
Two variants for Europe
The ROG Phone II will be available in two versions in this country: In the Elite Edition with 512 GB flash memory and a glossy black case for a suggested retail price of 900 euros and Ultimate Edition with 1 TB flash memory, one matt black color and a suggested retail price of 1,200 euros. Both variants rely on the particularly fast memory standard UFS 3.0, which has already made the OnePlus 7 Pro (test) the “Formula 1 car among smartphones”.
Regarding the other specifications, the European version is not changing much: The new Snapdragon 855 Plus from Qualcomm with a clock frequency of up to 2.96 GHz, the 12 GB RAM of the type LPDDR4X and the Adreno 640 GPU should still be sufficient FPS on the 120 Hz display (90 Hz in the 1st generation) with 2,340 × 1,080 pixels (Full-HD +), the 6,000 mAh battery ensure that the ROG Phone II does not run out of energy so fast. In addition to Quick Charge 4.0, Asus also supports the in-house ROG HyperCharge with up to 30 watts.
A special feature of the Ultimate edition but then still has to offer: The only equipment variant supports the flagship version LTE Cat. 20 with a downlink of 2 Gbit / s over 4 × 4 MIMO, while all other variants with LTE Cat. 18 and a downlink of 1.2 Gbit / s.

The premiere at the IFA in Berlin is synonymous with the market launch in Europe, at least for the elite version, which is now available on the Asus online store and expected to go on 20 September on the shelves of dealers and shipping should. According to Asus, the Ultimate edition will follow in the 4th quarter of 2019.
