The improved versions of numerous role-playing classics of the 1990s and early 2000s from the portfolio of Beamdog be ported for game consoles. Work is being done on versions of Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment and Neverwinter Nights.
Basis of the port, with which Skybound Games was commissioned, is in each case the PC already available on the PC Enhanced Edition of the classics. In addition, the announcement of both companies contains no specific details. It is unclear on which platforms the games will appear, as well as how the complex interface should be transferred to consoles and made bearable.
As Divinity: Original Sin shows, classic D & D role-playing games are fundamentally also playable on the sofa, but some adjustments are needed. These had the developers of the classic PC-designed classic not in mind.
