The new game flat rate GameClub wants to score with classics of the 32-bit era and represent an alternative to the curated offers of Apple Arcade. Through a GameClub subscription, around 50 games are to be played again, which were not able to run at the end of 2017 for the 32-bit apps from iOS 11 since the end of 2017.
Around 100 classics ported from 32-bit to 64-bit
On September 19, 2017, the company from Cupertino presented iOS 11, thus excluding the 32-bit apps on iPad and iPhone. A total of around 100 classic games of this era have given GameClub a new lease of life with a 64-bit version and have made them capable of running on current iOS operating systems. On offer are well-known titles, including Gears, Mage Gauntlet, Chopper 2 and Space Miner and Plunderland.
64-bit version for free for 32-bit buyers
Even former purchases will receive the 64-bit update, allowing buyers of the 32-bit version of the game even without Gambling Club subscription in full use in the 64-bit version. The registration at the GameClub can be skipped, the compulsion to subscribe does not exist. The GameClub app itself can be downloaded for free from Apple's App Store.
The central hub for all this curation is the GameClub app, making the best games only a single tap away. Each title is free to download and play – without a subscription – for those who have already purchased them through the App Store.
For the price of 4.99 euros per month players get full access to the approximately 100 classic games in the new running on iOS 13 64-bit edition. The entire game collection of GameClub can also be tested for one month for free. The entire offer of GameClub is – with and without subscription – ad-free and can also be used offline. The subscription for the game flat rate can be terminated at any time and without notice.
Weekly new 32-bit classics
The currently around one hundred iOS classics should be just the beginning. The manufacturer promises to expand the collection of 32-bit games weekly with well-known titles. The GameClub is to appear promptly in the Google PlayStore for Android and is currently still in the beta for the mobile operating system of Google.
