Instagram is preparing to launch Reels, the new video format of Stories. Consisting of 15 seconds of music videos, Reels is a copy of TikTok's video format.
This new feature of Instagram, which began testing Reels in Brazil, was discovered by Jane Manchun Wong in September. In Reels format, users have video editing tools and a complete music catalog to create a 15-second video.
With this new feature, we can say that Instagram is preparing to compete with TikTok, which has experienced significant growth and acceleration in China and around the world. Given the recent US approach of Chinese technology companies, it is safe to say that the timing of the Instagram Reels feature is sound.
Similarly, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently criticized TikTok as part of freedom of expression.
Love the phrase "remarkably decent, Tik TikTok, a praise of course considering how much you love

Although the copy of TikTok on Instagram is on the agenda, it should be noted that Adam Mosseri, director of Instagram, does not reject these claims. If you remember, Instagram, which copied many features of Snapchat, including the Stories format, in recent years, has never denied having copied the format. Apparently Instagram will still need to expand to other applications.
