Motorola launches two new smartphones at the IFA 2019: the budget model E6 Plus and the expansion of the One family in the form of the Motorola One Zoom. Its flagship is the quadruple camera configuration including wide angle, depth and eponymous zoom.
With the exception of the Samsung Galaxy A9 and the Honor 20, quad-camera systems are currently only starting from 500 euros upwards in the trade and the prices of the two favorable competition models have already fallen significantly compared to the EIA.
Four main cameras plus a selfie cam
“Industry leading“Be the camera, Motorola said at a pre-event to the press conference at IFA 2019 on Thursday night. Only a month ago, Lenovo had taken a significant step in this aspect when the triple-camera solution was introduced in One Action, today it will be refilled again.
The 48 megapixel sensor with optical image stabilizer and f / 1.7 aperture in the main camera, which is already known from the One Vision, joins the Motorola One Zoom for the first time a triple optical tele zoom with optically stabilized 8 megapixels. It is complemented by a 5-MP lens for deep (un) sharpness and the 16-MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 117 degrees field of view from the One Action, which again almost corresponds to the field of view of the human eye. The One Zoom unites the Vision's main camera with the one-action wide-angle camera and adds the telephoto lens system.
The whole thing is packed in a rectangular module, which protrudes slightly from the smartphone at the back. The many sensors and the technology on the top also ensures that the smartphone while holding in your hand noticeably top-heavy fails.
Even with the selfie camera Lenovo does not save on many megapixels: 25 should be. The camera corresponds to that used in the One Vision (test). In test shots on the spot, however, this camera did not show any visible differences on the screen compared to the classic selfie camera in smartphones with a third, quarter or fifth of the resolution.
The hardware is middle class
The OLED display measures 6.4 inches with Full HD resolution and integrated fingerprint scanner, and the images are provided by the GPU in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, an octa-core processor. The SoC is provided with 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB are available in the standard configuration as mass storage. The battery has grown over previous One solutions and now 4,000 mAh large, fast charging is supported with 15 watts. An IP certification for splash protection and the like miss the model, instead advertises Motorola P2i splash-proof nano-coating, The smartphone will be in the colors electric gray and cosmic purple be available for 430 euros, the latter variant to start exclusively on Amazon. Sales start today is September 5th.
Moto E6 Plus from 139 euros for the entry-level market
As a second solution Lenovo together with Motorola has the E6 Plus in the luggage. For the entry-level market, the primary focus here was on the camera. From now on, there is a dual setup consisting of a 13-MP main camera paired with a 2-MP solution for low (in) sharpness. The setup is completed by an 8 MP selfie camera.
Propulsion is provided in the E6 Plus by an Octa-Core SoC, whose graphics unit brings the pictures to the 6.1-inch display in HD resolution. Rarity value has the replaceable battery, the 3,000 mAh sums. In the basic configuration for 139 euros only 2 GB of RAM are installed, for 159 euros this is doubled to 4 GB. This also applies to the mass storage, which grows from 32 to 64 GB.
