After a small beta test in South Korea, Samsung launches the public beta phase of Android 10 with One UI 2 for the Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10, S10 + and also the S10 5G. The beta program will start immediately in Germany, a prerequisite is a Samsung account and the registration in the members app from Samsung.
The Members app is available through the Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store. The new One-UI user interface is equipped with features of Android 10 and in some ways adapted. Hints and pop-ups are generally leaner on the One UI 2 and take up less space on the display. For example, if a call comes in while a game is open, only the name of the caller and accept and decline buttons appear, and captions, a photo, and the phone number disappear. In addition to the call notification, the volume bar is smaller and slips to the top of the display to hide less content. The charging indicator is now also embedded.
One UI 2 extends the dark mode to the start screen
In dark mode, in addition to the brightness of images, text and colors, the color of the lock and start screen and the format of the clock and notifications are adjusted so that they always remain easily legible.
In addition, Samsung wants to help ensure that the time of use can be better controlled. In focus mode, applications can be temporarily paused to minimize distractions at work. In addition, functions such as the detection and deletion of duplicate photos have been improved.
Deadline for final version is still pending
A date for the final update to Android 10 with One UI 2 for the Galaxy S10 does not yet exist, but it could still be this year, unless serious problems arise during the beta test.
As with any beta version, a backup should be done in advance. Use is also at your own risk with the possibility of data loss.
