Today, the smartphone manufacturer is following up on the OnePlus 7T (test) for the OnePlus 7T (test): the OnePlus 7T Pro. The changes compared to the spring version are limited by a new processor and more memory. The maximum RAM expansion is only available on the new McLaren Edition.
Snapdragon 855+ with more CPU and GPU clock
OnePlus reissues the OnePlus 7 Pro and equips it with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus, as it did on the OnePlus 7T. The SoC differs from the regular Snapdragon 855 by a higher-clocking Prime Core, which now offers up to 2.96 GHz instead of 2.84 GHz (+4 percent). Also on the GPU Qualcomm has made changes, so that this also offers a higher clock rate 15 percent higher performance.
More RAM and UFS 3.0
Compared to the OnePlus 7 Pro, the minimum memory requirements for RAM and UFS 3.0 have been adjusted. From now on there are always 8 GB instead of 6 GB RAM and 256 GB instead of 128 GB memory. The memory can not be expanded. The former base model with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB memory is no longer available. On the other hand, there is no model with a 12 GB RAM, unless the new McLaren edition of the smartphone is used. After the McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 6T, the smartphone manufacturer has again teamed up with the British manufacturer of super sports cars for a special model.
New colors and more RAM
The McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 7T Pro comes with 12GB of RAM in addition to a flamboyant “paintjob” that differs in orange accents and a kind of carbon-look wood grain on the back of the regular model. The orange is also found in the area of the camera and the power button again. Last but not least, there is a McLaren lettering on the back.
Minimal larger battery with faster charging technology
Apart from that, the OnePlus 7T Pro is a smartphone that has barely changed from the OnePlus 7 Pro. The battery is marginally larger with 4.085 mAh, otherwise all other features have been taken over unchanged. The slightly curved OLED display remains at 6.67 inches with 1,440 × 3,120 pixels and 90 Hz frame rate. There is still no notch, as the 16 megapixel camera for selfies is hidden in the frame and only extends when needed. On the back sits the same triple camera as before, with the telephoto lens, unlike the OnePlus 7T, offering 2.87x instead of 2x zoom. The two other cameras are identical.
OxygenOS based on Android 10
OnePlus will ship both variants of the OnePlus 7T Pro with OxygenOS 10.0 based on Android 10 and will add a power adapter for “Warp Charge 30T”, which should charge up to 23 percent faster. The OnePlus 7T Pro costs € 759 and will be available on the 17th of October. For the McLaren edition calls OnePlus 859 euros, here is the launch on 5 November.
