In exactly two weeks, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus. In the run-up to the last days and weeks, however, all sorts of information about the new smartphones have been made public. ComputerBase summarizes the latest rumors, which can hardly be described as such.
Basis of the current reporting are from WinFuture Compiled information that presumably comes from dealers and consists of technical specifications and extensive images. At the end of this message, ComputerBase summarizes the specifications into tables and allows comparison with previous generations and other top-of-the-range devices.
Smaller than a Galaxy Note 2
Samsung will double-track this year and will be launching the Galaxy Note 10 at 6.3 inches and 6.8 inches for the first time in two sizes. From the case dimensions, the small model positions itself between the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + (test), while the large model is just smaller than a Galaxy S10 5G fails. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus will be slightly thinner, but larger in size and width than a Galaxy Note 9 (test). Hard to believe, but the small Galaxy Note 10 is just as high as a Galaxy Note 2 with 151 millimeters and thereby much narrower. Samsung makes the resolution dependent on the size of the display: 3,040 × 1,440 pixels are only available for the large version. Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and dynamic HDR10 +, however, offer both versions.
The new design reduces the edges of the display even more and moves the front camera from the right edge to the center. There will no longer be dual front cameras like the Galaxy S10 +, but a new single camera with 10 megapixels, Ultra HD support and HDR10 +. The fingerprint sensor is in the display.
Up to four cameras with ToF sensor
The back comes with three (Galaxy Note 10) or four (Galaxy Note 10 Plus) vertically arranged cameras, as it is already known from the Galaxy S10, S10 + and S10 5G, but still aligned horizontally. The main camera with 12 megapixels offers a three-stage automatic or manually selectable aperture of f / 1.5, f / 1.8 and f / 2.4, the new telecamera with twice the zoom should capture with f / 2.1 instead of previously f / 2.4 more light. New for the Galaxy Note series is the ultra wide-angle camera with 16 megapixels and f / 2.2 aperture. Only the Galaxy Note 10 Plus will additionally receive a time-of-flight sensor that can capture depth information and calculate a better bokeh effect. It is also possible to measure objects, as the Galaxy S10 5G shows.
microSD only with the Galaxy Note 10 Plus
It gets interesting with features like battery and memory. Because here are 3,500 mAh in small note 10 compared to the 4.300 mAh of the large model. Wireless charging is again supported, but this time with up to 20 watts. Samsung's new power supply delivers 25 watts, optionally the fast charging with up to 45 watts is supported. Also the main memory with 8 GB to 12 GB varies in size, while the new UFS 3.0 with 256 GB in the respective base model of both variants is the same size. An important difference for many users is the memory expansion, because only the larger Galaxy Note 10 Plus should have a microSD slot.
New SoCs from Samsung and Qualcomm
In terms of system-on-a-chip is in some areas a little guesswork, although with the Exynos 9825 a new chip will celebrate its premiere. For the US market, however, the Snapdragon 855 Plus is provided. Usually Samsung takes over for a new Galaxy Note the chip introduced for the new Galaxy S, this year however a small performance plus is planned, in order to set off the new Smartphone more strongly from the Galaxy S-Serie. Pure from the CPU clock Samsung seems to have raised the two middle cores, while the four small cores offer less maximum clock. There is no information about the GPU. Whether Samsung will have the chip again manufactured in 8 nm in its own foundry or will switch to 7 nm, is also unknown.
Market launch from the end of August
Loud WinFuture Both smartphones will hit the market on August 23rd. The Galaxy Note 10 should cost from 999 euros, the Galaxy Note 10 Plus from 1,149 euros.
